KIDS ACTIVITY: Motion Explosion

Looking for something fun to do with your kids now that the weather is warming up? FWC member Kim Jay works for the Woodridge Park District and has planned this fun event for May 6th!

Recipe: Microbrew Cheddar Cheese Spread


2 1/2 C. Shredded Reduced-Fat Cheddar Cheese
1/2 C. low-fat cream cheese
2 t. minced onion
2 t. minced roasted garlic
1 t. dijon mustard
8 T. Amber Ale (or beer of your choice)
bacon for garnish

In a food processor fitted with the metal blade, process the cheddar cheese, cream cheese, onion, garlic and mustard until they form a coarse paste. With the machine running, pour the ale through the feed tube and process until creamy. Transfer to serving bowl. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours to allow the flavors to meld. Remove from refrigerator 1 hour before serving. Garnish with the bacon and pretzels.
