Coming In 2016-2017

We hope everyone is enjoying the summer! While we do not want to rush these long, sunny days, fall is just around the corner and the FWC Board is hard at work planning fun events for the 2016-2017 year.

Hosts: Have you ever thought about hosting an event? It is very easy and we are looking for some fall volunteers!
Bunco (September, October, November… you pick the date!)
Firepit & Friends (target October. Should have a firepit in your backyard)

Events: What events would you like to see on the calendar next year? We have some ideas, but a lot of our favorite events last year were suggested by members. Please email with any ideas!

RECIPE: Dill Cucumber Bites

Screen Shot 2016-05-22 at 1.27.16 PM

(Photo & recipe via Flying on Jess Fuel)

4 large English cucumbers
1 pint grape tomatoes
1 (8 oz) block cream cheese, at room temperature
1 small (5.3 oz) container plain Greek yogurt
3 tbsp fresh dill, minced
1 tbsp powdered Ranch dressing mix (such as Hidden Valley)

1. Slice cucumbers into rounds, about ½-inch thick. You can leave the skin on, peel them, or partially peel them for a striped look. Slice grape tomatoes in half (or quarters, if large) and set aside.
2. In a bowl, combine cream cheese, Greek yogurt, dill and Ranch dressing powder. Mix thoroughly. You can use an electric mixer, but you can also do this by hand.
Transfer the cheese mixture to a piping bag (if you don’t have one, you can use a large Ziplock bag with a corner snipped off).
3. Pipe the cheese mixture onto the cucumber rounds, then top with a cherry tomato half!
